Fascinating! CWL Quarter-finals

      On 6th November, as the final contend of the 2017 season’s quarter-finals was end, the four top teams of this CWL season came out. Jingde Chinese Traditional Medicine, Wuhan Fengda, Seoul Yuequan Guoji and Quzhou Yigu got through the siege and entered the semi-finals successfully. The suspense is replete in the quarter-finals, and wonderful contests.

Wuhan Feng Da: Superior in Stratagem, Head Start of the Semi-final 

      The quarter-finals of this season was began by Wuhan Feng Da and Haikou Yinwan. 

      In the beginning of this regular season, Wuhan Feng Da started off the wrong foot, and gained two wins out of the first five rounds, involved in a danger situation. But later, the team pushed forward the playoff without a hitch with 9-match winning streak, and defeated Guangzhou Gui Yong Hui with utmost effort in the eighth-finals and rose in the final eight. Haikou Yinwan also was fall-rise pattern in this season, stagger along in the regular season and got the last ride of the playoff. It was a upset that the lightly regarded Haikou team weeded out the dark horse Ningbo Shuqian led by the World Champion Tan Xiao in eighth-finals, which made one climax after another. 

      In the quarter-final, Wuhan Fengda was superior in the stratagem and won the first round in the middle game. After the hard seesaw battle of the second round, Wuhan defeated the opponent in 6.5 points advantage, at last Wuhan defeated Haikou in 2:0 total score and gained the head start of the top four.


 
Jingde Chinese Traditional Medicine: New Maverick Beating Patres of Three Seasons

      The metropolis of porcelain, the land of Go, the team of Chinese traditional medicine-Jingde Chinese Traditional Medicine team participated in the league for the first time this year, performed well in the regular season, and seized the first place of the B District with 12 wins and 2 losses to be in the playoff. In the eighth-final the team won Chongqing Fangyuan and rose in the top eight. 


      In the quarter-final, Jingde Chinese Traditional Medicine and Changsha Yinzhi’s match was a diamond cut diamond. They fought for three rounds inextricably, which was so intensive that the Four Dan Commentator Liu Fan burst out: “It’s so fierce that I could not comment it.”  Jingde Chinese Traditional Medicine won the first round with 1 piece. In the second round, Jingde team lost due to a ko fight at the end of the game, the battle record became 1:1.  In the tie-break, the lead coach Chen Yao Ye had an ace up his sleeve and banded with Wang Hao Yang’s tactics, through a hard endgame combat, Jingde won the game in the middle stage, defeated Changsha in the record 2:1, and became one of the top four. 

      The Chinese Weiqi Association Chairman Wang Ru Nan made personal appearance at the field to cheer up the teams with fans. 

 
Seoul Yuequan Guoji: May Big Fortune Follow A Hair Escape 

      On 4th and 5th November, the three rounds of the chess competition between the top contender Hangzhou Kunlun and the defending champion Seoul Yuequan Guoji was heartstrings and full with suspense. Yuequan’s major player was absent and the whole team was out of form, and they lost the first round in the middle game; Second round, all the players of the both teams were present, Yuequan only used 15 seconds to confirm the last endgame sequence to win the round with 1/2 piece, which was a hair escape. The key third round was full with suspense, decisive 1/2 piece occurred again. Yuequan’s was extremely luck, they used the last time-out to avoid the last ko fight, won the round with 1/2 piece again, which manifest an old saying “May Big Fortune Follow A Hair Escape”. 

      Heroes appreciate each other. After the competition, Hangzhou Kunlun was upset, but as a new team, their performance had already brought a great pressure to the other teams, and the winner Yuequan also hasn’t raised a cheer, because Hangzhou was an honorable opponent.

      The game’s open, lively and interesting atmosphere struck the fans deeply. Wu Minmin the fan from Yiwu said she had never seen such kind of match, “Its ornamental and interactivity are really strong, it give me a fresh feeling.”

 
      Quzhou Yigu: Jiang Weijie VS Lianxiao; Fight Bravely and Reverse to The Final

      On 5th and 6th November, Beijing Xing Tian Di as the home team played against Quzhou Yigu. The number one player of the home team Lianxiao Nine Dan just finished the Celebrity Defending Match then hurried to this game, but his flight was late so he could not catch the first round. But fortunately his teammates’ unity strength was so great,, they used the winning moves to achieve success and played with black to win the first round under the falling behind condition. The second round in the next day morning, for the 60th move of institutional substitution, Lianxiao came into the unavoidable confrontation with Quzhou Yigu No. 1 player Jiang Weijie, and both of them has gained the Celebrity title, which became a word-class confrontation of CWL. At last, Quzhou Yigu fought with their back to the river and was superior to Xing Tian Di, equalized the game with black in  pieces advantage. 


      In the afternoon of 6th, the decisive round, Quzhou Yigu guessed and got the black, again Lianxiao met Jiang Weijie in the 60th move of institutional substitution. Lianxiao’s fierce attacks gained the advantage for Xing Tian Di, but the following Quzhou players resisted doggedly, they neglected their dragon and forcibly fought ko, finally their tactics made Xing Tian Di lose the wits; after a big exchange, Quzhou won the round at the middle game and reverse the opponent in 2:1 record, and gained the last one entrance ticket of top four.

      Competitive sports are always cruel, as someone is proud, then someone will be frustrated. After the quarter-finals, the top four will embark on their way to the Greatest Honor at once.
